MALAYSIA: Bank Rakyat launched the eGold Account-i – a Shariah compliant gold account allows online purchase and sale as an investment in gold with 999.9 purity and accredited by the London Bullion Market Association. With a RM10 (US$2.28) entry point, investor purchases are subject to the bank’s daily gold sales limit. After purchased, the gold investment can be left in the bank’s security vault be converted into a physical gold bar – available in denominations from 0.5g up to 100g.
