MALAYSIA: Bursa Carbon Exchange, the world’s first Shariah compliant carbon exchange, completed its inaugural auction of 268,800 Hydropower Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) 2024 Contracts. These RECs originate from the Murum Hydroelectric Plant, managed by Sarawak Energy, and were purchased by 15 industrial buyers at the calibrated bid price of RM4.50 (US$0.96) per contract.
