BANGLADESH: The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is set to take action against sponsor-directors of listed companies who have failed to meet minimum shareholding requirements, that is, a 30% joint stake including in Islamic finance institutions, reported The Financial Express. The BSEC cautioned that fines and enforcement measures will be imposed, highlighting that shrunken ownership stakes can harm general investors.
