UAE: The Central Bank of the UAE prohibited an unnamed Takaful operator in the UAE from issuing or concluding new motor and health insurance contracts due to its failure to meet the minimum capital requirement. While the errant firm has six months “to remediate the solvency position”, it remains liable for all rights and obligations arising from Takaful contracts concluded before the prohibition.
