Hong Kong firm launches equity fund in GCC

GLOBAL: Hong Kong real estate-focused Gaw Capital Partners, which is growing its Shariah investment focus via new offices in Abu Dhabi and Riyadh, announced the expansion of its PE platform in GCC region with the launch of the Gaw Tamkeen Nexus Fund. This equity vehicle will focus on high-growth technology-enabled companies across the region, having reached a first close of US$150 million and is targeting over US$400 million in commitments.

Andrei Rotaru, newly appointed as managing director and head of Middle East PE in Abu Dhabi, said the firm is proceeding despite the ongoing regional conflict, anticipating that large institutional investors in the Gulf region may review plans to diversify outside the region and redirect that capital back home.
