INDONESIA: The Ministry of Religious Affairs launched the Islamic Education Waqf Movement to bring together 484 Waqf bodies and 61 banks that collect such charitable contributions to promote synergies. The ministry estimated that Waqf opportunities and potential in Indonesia will exceed IDR180 trillion (US$11.11 billion), rising to IDR327 trillion (US$20.19 billion) if Zakat contributions are added.
