MALAYSIA: Johor has launched RMJDT, a ringgit-backed stablecoin issued by Bullish Aim on Zetrix, a Shariah compliant layer 1 blockchain. The initiative which was introduced under Malaysia’s regulated digital asset sandbox was launched by Tunku Ismail, the regent of Johor.
RMJDT is intended to support cross-border trade settlements. In parallel, Bullish Aim will establish a digital asset treasury company with an initial RM500 million (US$122.34 million) allocations in Zetrix tokens to support network stability and blockchain operations.
