Khazanah catalyst to grow VC fund managers

MALAYSIA: Aiming to draw more cashflows into domestic and emerging fund managers with potential to be regional champions in the venture capital (VC) ecosystem, Malaysian sovereign fund Khazanah Nasional is launching two initiatives come November 2024. Driven as part of Khazanah’s National Fund-of-Funds project, the latest initiatives will commit significant capital to signal confidence for prospective local and global fund investors to co-invest – resulting in the Malaysian start-up ecosystem gaining from ample capital availability. “These efforts will enable the fusion of local and international expertise, perspectives and knowledge to spur a vibrant ecosystem that fuels progress and advancements.”
