Malaysian pilgrimage fund mulls shift to more equity investments

MALAYSIA: Malaysian pilgrimage fund, Lembaga Tabung Haji, is reviewing its conservative asset allocation strategy of leaning on fixed income instruments, aiming to boost returns amid an anticipated lower global interest rate landscape. Eyeing a possible increase in equity allocation, which now stands at around 35% of its assets, Tabung Haji will continue to invest domestically in the local bourse plus income-generating real estate and PE opportunities – but will hold off on gold holdings at the moment.
