MALAYSIA: Manulife Investment Management added ringgit-hedged classes for three of its funds offered within Malaysia – the Manulife Shariah China Equity Fund, Manulife Shariah India Equity Fund and Manulife Shariah Global REIT Fund. The initial offer for this new class which begins on the 3rd June 2025, is RM0.50 (US$0.12) per unit.
Furthermore, India tax risks were added to the Manulife Investment Shariah Asia-Pacific ex Japan Fund and Manulife Shariah India Equity Fund. A long-term capital gains tax of 12.5% may apply if returns exceed INR125,000 (US$1,440) from holdings longer than a year; the rate is higher at 20% if the holdings are for less than or equal to 12 months.
