Maybank’s Islamic banking chief to head Bank Pembangunan Malaysia

MALAYSIA: Muzaffar Hisham, former CEO of Islamic banking at Malayan Banking, is to take charge of Bank Pembangunan Malaysia, The Edge said in a report that could not be immediately verified by IFN Investor. 

Malayan Banking, or Maybank, as Malaysia’s largest commercial bank is commonly known, announced on the 24^th April 2025 the departure of Muzaffar, who was appointed Islamic banking CEO on the 1^st March, 2024. Maybank’s deputy CEO of Islamic banking, Shahrizan Sulaiman, will move up to head the unit with Muzaffar’s departure.
