IRAN: Following the Iranian Cabinet approval on the 10th August 2025, new rial currency notes will be issued and distributed starting the Persian year 1406 (March 2027 – March 2028) – where four zeros will be removed from the denominations. From 1409 (March 2030 – March 2031), only the new rial currency notes will be recognized in Iran, though special bank branches will remain available so the public can continue exchanging old notes for new.
