MALAYSIA: RHB Islamic Bank partnered with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) to launch Malaysia’s first Waqf to support turtle conservation efforts. The Waqf program is underpinned by the RHB Sukuk Dana Hafeez initiative. Funds collected through both Sukuk and Waqf will be channeled entirely to the UMT Education and Welfare Endowment Fund, to support conservation projects run by the Sea Turtle Research Unit and the Chagar Hutang Research Station on Redang Island, an internationally-recognized turtle conservation location.
