MALAYSIA: The six participants selected for the inaugural regulatory sandbox by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) include two Islamic fintechs. Shariah compliant Wahed X will partner Urban NX to facilitate alternative real estate investments. Shariah firm Kapital DX is working with Pitch Platforms to foster market vibrancy through secondary markets while Virtual Economy Technology is collaborating with PeerHive to spur innovation in alternative financing.
