MALAYSIA: The Islamic finance community mourns the passing of Wan Abdul Rahim Kamil Wan Mohamed Ali, a distinguished consultant and influential figure in the Islamic finance industry. He passed away on the evening of the 5th August 2024.
Wan Abdul Rahim Kamil’s passing marks a significant loss for the Islamic finance industry and community. He served as a consultant for the Securities Commission Malaysia with a focus on the Islamic capital market, and for a time shared his expertise as a lecturer at INCEIF University. His extensive contributions included roles as a member of the Shariah committees of Public Islamic Bank and Permodalan Nasional in Malaysia, and as a board member of Al Khabeer Capital in Saudi Arabia.
IFN extends our deepest condolences to his family. His legacy in the Islamic finance industry will be remembered and cherished.
