BSI signs MoU

INDONESIA: Shariah compliant lender Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) has entered into an MoU with Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama to strengthen Islamic financial literacy and inclusion, focusing on Hajj and Umrah savings as well as Shariah compliant gold investment. The collaboration, signed during Muslimat’s 80th anniversary event in Semarang, aims to expand awareness and early financial planning among its 32 million members, including preparation for Hajj through structured savings and alternative investment options. BSI noted that approximately 83% of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims are its Hajj savings customers, reflecting its position in the segment, and added that the partnership will support broader development of the domestic Islamic economic ecosystem.
