IRAN: The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) plans to introduce a digital currency, with a pilot version set to be rolled out in Kish, IRNA reported. The CBI aims for the pilot platform to pave the way for a digital form of the Iranian rial. Iran's Bank Mellat and Tejarat Bank will participate in the pilot project, scheduled to launch in July 2024.
