MALAYSIA: MNRB Holdings submitted an application to Bank Negara Malaysia on the 16th June 2026 for regulatory approval of its proposed acquisition of an 80% equity interest in Labuan Reinsurance for a total cash consideration of US$100.69 million (RM446.1 million). The application follows the initial announcement of the proposed acquisition on the 19th May 2026. MNRB, which operates Malaysia Re and Takaful IKHLAS as its principal subsidiaries, is the country's national reinsurance and reTakaful group. The completion of the proposed acquisition remains subject to regulatory approvals.
