Operational from the 2nd March 2025, the SEDCO Capital Saudi Freestyle Artificial Intelligence Fund leverages on an AI platform to determine optimal allocations to different asset classes within the fund’s investment scope.
“The platform processes and analyzes approximately 300 million qualitative and quantitative data points daily using advanced processors and self-learning algorithms” said fund manager Saudi Economic and Development Securities Company (SEDCO Capital).
“AI is significantly reshaping the investment landscape, enhancing efficiency, expanding capabilities and providing deeper insights in asset management.”
With continuous risk management enabling proactive decision-making, this fund invests in Saudi-domiciled companies listed on the Saudi Stock Exchanges and markets outside the Kingdom – which the AI tool identifies as having strong fundamentals and promising long-term competitive factors.
Benchmarked against the S&P Saudi Shariah Domestic Local Currency Total Return Index, this fund aims to achieve capital growth in the medium to long term.
The fund reinvests any realized income to enhance overall performance.
The IPO period from the 16th February 2025 opened with units priced at SAR10 (US$2.67) each with a minimum initial subscription of SAR5,000 (US$1,333.33), while subsequent investments are in SAR2,000 (US$533.33) multiples.
With a 30% limit on investments outside the Kingdom, this open-ended Shariah compliant equity fund invests 55-100% of its net asset value (NAV) in IPO shares, secondary offerings and rights issues of listed firms.
The fund manager can invest up to 40% of NAV in public and equity private investment funds, maximum 30% in real estate investment trust funds plus a 25% cap applied on money market instruments and debt instruments, including investment-grade Sukuk.
