UZBEKISTAN: Bekhzod Khamraev, the deputy chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, said that the apex bank plans to introduce a bill on Islamic finance to parliament in 2024, Uzbekistan Daily reported.
Bekhzod added that a special commission was created to work on the bill and a draft law has been developed, to be submitted to parliament for consideration this year. Changes have also been made to the microcredit organizations law to include a clause on Islamic finance, he said.
